Default Fixing the Paragons

In the past number of update, Paragons have gotten the short end of the stick. Because they have high armor and a very good energy management to work with chants and shouts, using them for defense and restoration was extremely potent, especially with multiple paragons in a team. Add "Stand your ground!", Hexbreaker Aria, Infuse Health, and Angelic Bond, and a team of paragons and warriors can support itself for a very long time... which is why Motivation was nerfed.

This is why they deserve some re-working of their skills to have them better fit into their originally designed role as party-buffers. Now, we have the opportunity to re-invent Paragons so that they are stronger than they were before, but so that their total defensive strength doesn't multiply drastically with each Paragon added to the team. The goal is to make Paragons more viable in all aspects of their standard operation (offensive and defensive party buffs, and lone damage). There is one solid solution I came up with. Read the whole thing, ask questions, and comment.

Re-work chants so that if you are become under the effects of a chant that you did not cast, all chants on your bar are disabled for 10 seconds. Then, buff all chants crazy-large. For example: make Song Restoration 10 second recharge with 100 healing.

Also, let any one character be under the effects of only one Echo, then buff all Echos. Like, improve Energizing Finale halfway back to 5/1/5 with 2 energy gain. You could take something like Aggresive Refrain and reduce the cost to 15 energy, or take Bladeturn Refrain and change it to +armor against all physical damage. Take purifying finale and make it remove 2 conditions for every shout or chant that ends. The list goes on.

Then, buff other skills too: like Signet of Synergy to a 5 second recharge so Restoration Paragons have some single target healing clout. Buff Signet of Aggression and "Make Your Time!" so that the occasional adreniline skill could be used without depending on a spear or wand (think Vocal was Sogolon).

After all that is done, buff the offensive power. Less 10 energy skills, more damage buffing

That's how I see it. Essentially remove having more than one defensive paragon, then buff the one remaining a healthy amount. There are plenty of other skills that deserve some special attention too.

"Incoming!"- Command
5 energy, 15 recharge
Elite Shout. For 1..5 seconds, target ally and up to two allies near that ally take 50% less damage.

"The Power is Yours!" - Motivation
5/shout/5
Elite Shout. For 10 seconds, target ally gains +1..4 energy regeneration and you suffer -2 energy degeneration. This skill has half the normal range.

Anthem of Guidance - Command
6 Adren/ 1 cast
Elite Chant. For 15 seconds, the next 3 attack skills used by each ally within earshot cannot be blocked.
